Slap in the face..

There was no knob, no push button, not even any manual. I simply did not know how switch on the tap & I was standing in front of a basin in a high class washroom in a posh South Calcutta shopping mall, that too in the middle of presumably high class crowd who came to be lighter not to urinate. I took probably a few seconds more than normal & it already started to become embarrassing. Luckily my mind worked as I noticed one aged person to hold his hand simply in front of the tap to get it work. The tap had sensor & hence, enough surprise to shock me. One big phew!

The first thing came in mind after getting out of that situation is, has anybody noticed? Almost instantly my eye started to scan the whole premise in search of those pairs of eyes who caught me, but no, these are high class animals, they don't see nuisance. Am I being sarcastic? ammm... actually I do not mind being, as those taps should not be made that way. They require too much of intelligence to be operated & can easily give someone inferiority complex.

But, is it not us who forced makers to make such difficult to understand machines? We keep the taps open even if we are not at all doing anything at the basins, or just trying to find out tiniest possible blemish on  our face in the mirror, or even worse, gossiping. So they need to think something which can lessen wastage of water . Ground water level is depleting at an alarming level but still we do not mind keeping our taps or pumps open throughout the day. After thinking this long I probably started have easy breath. We need such slapping reminders, don't we?

  1. Yes, we need slap in each step. We do wrong but advise not to do wrong. We do wrong mostly outside of our own house and never in our house. Advantage searcher picks jewels from the situation we create and then we criticize. We may restrain us if we get a big slap and get it until we change our practice. Thank you for your good and easy English. Thank you for raising the issue.
